Star brite Liquid Rubbing Compound f/Heavy Duty Oxidation - 16 oz

Star brite Liquid Rubbing Compound delivers heavy-duty oxidation removal for heavily weathered gelcoat and painted surfaces. Apply by hand or electric buffer using the step-by-step method below to bring back original color and gloss, then follow up with a Star brite polish to seal and protect the restored finish.

Directions:

Begin by washing the surface with Star brite Boat Wash to remove dirt and grime. Apply a small amount of compound to a clean, dry cloth and work it into the surface using a firm, circular overlapping motion while the compound remains wet. Rotate the cloth frequently to avoid redepositing removed oxidation. Allow the compound to dry until a haze forms, then buff off with a separate clean, dry cloth. Work one small section at a time for uniform results. Multiple passes may be needed for heavily oxidized surfaces. When using an electric buffer, avoid excessive pressure to prevent burning the surface. Once color and luster are restored, seal and shine with a Star brite polish.

Note:

Rubbing compounds are abrasive and can scratch gelcoat, metal, and painted surfaces. Consider trying Star brite Fiberglass Color Restorer & Sealer first — it is significantly less abrasive and can typically restore moderately oxidized surfaces to like-new condition without the risk of scratching.
